As many of you know, Tuesday was my 24th birthday! Our little one gave me a wonderful birthday present…she let me sleep straight through the night without kicking really hard or kicking my bladder!

It was a really great birthday! When I woke up, Tyler gave me the sweetest birthday card! Then, he made me a whole batch of cupcakes! We spent most of the day rearranging the furniture in the living room to make room in the office/junk/guest room to turn it into the office/nursery. The living room looks great! I’ll post pictures as soon as we get everything done in there. For dinner, he made me king crab legs, shrimp, and pasta…it was heavenly! Tyler also put the pack n’ play/bassinet together the night before, so I was very excited! It was so fun to see where our little princess is going to be sleeping :)

Here’s a picture of our Pack N’ Play (Graco Windsor)…in real life, its a lot less ‘army green’ and more ’sage green,’ and the lining is gingham and toile:

On Wednesday morning (Valentines Day), I had my Gestational Diabetes test. I’ll post when I find out if I passed it or not. When we got home from the test, Tyler and I organized the laundry room and kitchen. We went over to Michelle’s for a Valentines dinner Wednesday night with Shane, Kelly and Dave, and their 1.5 year-old son, Mason. I played with Mason while everyone else was grilling/cooking. It was literally the most time I have spent with a small child since babysitting in high school, and he was so precious! I had so much fun playing with him, and I almost cried thinking about how I’ll be playing with our little girl in a few short months. It also made me realize just how much you have to pay attention to small children when they start walking. He was all over the place, and kept picking up everything he could find…and I was amazed at how quickly he could get away with such short little legs! I’m so glad babies don’t know how to walk/crawl as newborns :P

After Mason went to sleep, we played Pop 5 Cranium…and I just have to say that Michelle makes the best play-doh Trapper Keeper ever!

So me and baby are doing well. She kicks all the time…I actually got to see her kick yesterday. I was sitting in Tyler’s dirty blue chair with my shirt pulled up so I could see my belly, and she kicked so hard that I could see a lump (foot/elbow/something) pop up! It was so cool!

It’s gotten to where I can feel parts of her body sometimes if I poke around on my belly. I can feel what I assume to be her head or butt or something kind of large right below the skin. Its so bizarre! Sometimes when I do this, she apparently gets mad, because then she’ll kick my hand!

Sometimes, I think the greatest thing about this pregnancy (other than the whole miracle of life thing and yadda yadda yadda) is that I pretty much have entertainment on demand. I could sit there and watch/feel her kick all day long!

Unfortunately, Tyler doesn’t get this same luxury. He still hasn’t been able to feel her kick since the first time he felt her. She’ll be kicking up a storm, then he puts his hand on my belly and she immediately stops! Two or three minutes after he’s given up, she’ll start kicking again! My aunt Donna said that its just that he’s already such a good father that the baby knows to stop misbehaving as soon as her daddy comes around :P

We got our car seat today! We ordered it online, and it was delivered this afternoon around 4pm. Tyler was at work, but I cried as soon as I saw the UPS guy pulling into the parking lot. Don’t know why I got more emotional about the car seat than the bedding and other things we’ve purchased for her. Maybe it was because I’ve literally spent the past two days jumping up to look out the window every single time I hear a vehicle outside :)

Anyway, this is the seat we got:

There must have been something in the pool at Angie and Joe Mac’s 4th of July party last summer

This morning, when Tyler got out of bed to get ready for work, I finally *offically* felt our baby girl kick from outside of my belly!!! Tyler was in the bathroom, and I yelled for him to come quick. He ran in, and I put his hand on my belly. Then, she kicked his hand! It was so exciting! Tyler asked how that could possibly not hurt me…I thought that was cute.

She kept kicking really hard for a while, and I’ve felt her kick from the outside a few more times throughout the day. It’s just so exciting that he finally got to feel her kick!

I wanted to go ahead and update this while I was thinking about it, and put some of baby’s ‘firsts’ on here, since there aren’t many spaces for in utero milestones in the baby keepsakes books that I’ve gotten :)

Found out the gender: December 19, 2006
Me, Tyler, and my mom, Lynn, were at the appointment. At first, the she wasn’t cooperating in showing us her goods. I said something along the lines of “Come on baby, show us what you’ve got,” and then she put her little legs up over her head and gave us a perfect view! I cried when they told me she was a girl! I was so excited, and it really made me feel more like this was really real when I found out the gender. Tyler also cried a little (AWWW!!!), and later said that he also felt more attached to the baby and felt more like the whole ‘having a baby’ thing was actually happening. My mom got emotional later that day, after leaving the appointment…delayed reaction :)

First time feeling her move/kick: January 3, 2006
Even though I had felt movement before, this was the day that I felt her move and actually KNEW that it was her moving. All the movement before, I thought was just gas (sorry if TMI, but that’s what it felt like). The morning of January 3, I woke up and was laying in bed, and felt this little wiggly/bubbly feeling in my stomach. It continued for almost twenty minutes, and I knew it was my baby girl (probably kicking me and saying “Mommy, get the heck out of bed!!!”). Since then, she kicks all the time, especially in the mornings when I’m laying in bed and when I’m sitting at the computer.

Yes, I made a website for our child who still has another 4 months before she’s even born :)

We had a little mini-scare this week at the doctor’s office, but now that we know that she’s doing great, we’re extra excited about our little one, and I thought making her a little website would be a fun way to celebrate her continuing good health :)

Welcome

Baby Girl Brunson is due on May 14, 2007. Since her mommy is a web designer, she ought to have her own website in utero, don’t ya think?

Parents-to-be, Perrin and Tyler, are proud to share with you some updates on baby’s progress, through ultrasounds, pictures of mommy’s belly, and any other news that this first-time mommy and daddy find interesting.
