Hi,
Its great to see that Maggie's SVAS is not so bad. My son has SVAS and pulmonary artery stenosis. He was tested negative for Williams at the age of 6 weeks after a FISH test. I am looking for pediatric surgeons who have handled such cases. I have been unable to find specific names. Can you help me?

Thanks

I hope that things stay good for you guys. To hear Mild is a wonderful thing!
Abi's reached severe at the age of 3 and after open heart 2.5 years ago it has stayed at mild-moderate since. The hope is that if she grows slowly they will not have to repair it agin in an open heart proceedure. The hope is that by the time she needs it "fixed" again there will be so many new advancements that they can do it without it being an open heart surgery.

hello lady, i just caught up on everything. read this freaking blog from start to finish (with a few snack breaks and one long yet lively phone call from my step brother) and im going to have to say i was completely out of the loop.

mostly my responses has been "wow," "im a terrible friend to have not known any of this," and "am i about to get my period? bc i keep tearing up . . . "

i still pretty much know you as perrin from high school, which was perrin who punched tyler in the face because he deserved it and perrin who hated my guts because i encouraged her to get her eyebrows waxed that one time, but perrin the mommy is still new and alien to me. and after reading this its apparent you have settled in and mastered that title to its fullest. which of course makes me feel all soft and squishy, which of course is even weirder. (weirder . . . is that a word? more weird perhaps?)

so lets just summarize ok? i love you. i love tyler. i love the kid. and the juries out on the cat.

ill be coming to visit some time soon. maybe even in march.

bang. pow.

I love what you wrote. I think that you have written many of my thoughts about the whole thing. AND just to let you know, the last part you wrote about not being able to "see" the WS...I still do that. Abi is 6 and for the most part I see Abi but every once in awhile I see WS. Maybe it is coping maybe it is just the fact that we do try to treat them like they are just regular kids...not sure but you are defiently not alone in your feelings!

I loved the show too! Like you said, I wish it was longer than 30 minutes. The whole time we watched it, I couldn't beleive how some of Jeremy's expressions were seen in Payton. It absolutely amazes me. I'm so thankful I can see this show once a week - I loved it!

I stumbled onto your site by accident. What an amazing story. Your attitude is magnificent and Maggie is so lucky to have you!!

I teach children to read and have worked with children with a variety of learning differences, or physical issues over the years - none with Williams Syndrome.

Best wishes to you and your family on this journey.

Sincerely,
Kristi

Hey! I really thought it was good. I always think it's amazing....the expressions Jeremy made reminded me so much of my daughter Payton. And - I loved seeing him drum.

Glad she is feeling better! My parents always had a bottle of cola syrup in the medicine cabinet for this reason.

Parents are pretty darn smart sometimes.
